Newborn and Postnatal Services
You’ll be relieved to know that our services don’t stop once baby has arrived!
Many of our new parents say that caring for their newborn baby in the first few days and weeks after giving birth was a surprisingly difficult time. It’s reassuring to be able to call on gentle, supportive, experienced help and advice if you need it. You’ll also be able to choose from a range of extended newborn screening to look for common inherited disorders and congenital heart problems (conditions where early detection is so important), many of which are missed with the standard bloodspot tests.
We also understand that sometimes labour and birth (whether at home or in hospital) don’t always go to plan and can leave you with worries, concerns and unanswered questions. You can choose a postnatal debrief consultation if you’d like to talk through your experience and what this might mean for the future.
