Preparing for Birth & Baby
In your second and third trimesters, it’s time to think about and then finalise your birth plan and prepare for birth and baby. Most of our parents-to-be really value the support we offer with our midwife-led services, as they offer an informal opportunity to chat and learn about all things bump, birth and baby!
Midwife-Led Parentcraft Classes
Our midwife-led ‘parentcraft’ classes include lots of helpful information, advice and support on staying healthy in pregnancy, birth choices and planning, analgesia for birth, how to feed and care for baby and getting everything ready for your new arrival.
Our highly experienced midwife (and mum!) Hollie will take you through every step, listening to all of the things you’re worried about, answering your questions and providing practical help and advice. You’ll benefit from truly personalised care during your time with Hollie as the classes are provided on a 1-2-1 basis with just you and/or your birth partner.
Classes are available most weeks at our clinic, usually in the evenings; please call to check availability and confirm your booking:-

Our FREE Bump to Baby Club
If you’d like to chat to other parents-to-be and share your experiences and hints and tips as you get ready for baby, then our free ‘Bump to Baby Club” is perfect for you. The next series of informal meetings starts on Thursday 15th August 2019 and thereafter will usually be held on the first Tuesday of each month. They’re hosted by our midwife Hollie, so you’ll also be able to ask lots of questions and talk to her about how your pregnancy is going.

Extra Help & Reassurance
During your class or meeting, you might talk about something that worries you and feel that you’d like a little extra reassurance. If this happens, Hollie will contact Dr Beattie directly and quickly make arrangements (if needed) for you to see or talk to him.
Birth Plan Scan
If you’re planning a vaginal birth, Hollie will also help you to schedule a Birth Plan Scan (where appropriate) at about 36 weeks to make sure you and baby are ready for birth. This also includes a vitally important Group B Strep Screen.
