Midstream Sample Urine (MSU) for UTI

    £65.00

Midstream Sample Urine (MSU) for UTI

Midstream Sample Urine (MSU or MSSU) is a midstream urine test sent for microbiology testing for a urinary tract infection (UTI). Urinary tract infections in pregnancy may not be obvious and hence routine antenatal care involves dipstick tests to check for traces of blood (haematuria), leucocytes, nitrates, protein (proteinuria).

If a UTI is found then the sample will be cultured to try to identify the bacteria causing the UTI and the antibiotics that it would be sensitive to.
