Progesterone (FastTrack)

Progesterone FastTrack is a hormone blood test (Gold Top Vacutainer) to measure progesterone levels.

The Progesterone blood test is useful for women who are trying to conceive, with luteal phase or menstrual irregularities, IVF, monitoring in early pregnancy and also sometimes used when there are concerns about ectopic pregnancy.

A day 21 progesterone in the mid luteal phase of the cycle with a value over 30 implies ovulation has occurred in that cycle.

FastTrack samples collected before 1200hrs in our Cardiff Clinic will usually be reported by midnight on the same day.

This test can also be taken at your home, work or anywhere in the UK and usually reported the next working day.
