Rhesus blood group is blood test (Pink Top Vacutainer) to determine whether someone is rhesus positive or rhesus negative. It is important to identify women who are rhesus negative when they are pregnant. If a rhesus negative women is carrying a rhesus positive baby there is a risk of the baby developing Haemolytic Disease of the Newborn (HDN) which causes severe anaemia and jaundice.
