Description
The T SPOT®. COVID T Cell test measures Covid immunity by qualitative detection of a cell mediated (T cell) immune response to SARS CoV-2 in whole blood. The T SPOT test now includes detection of immune response after vaccine. Its intended use is as an aid in identifying individuals with an adaptive, or acquired, immune response to SARS-CoV-2, specifically the T cell response.
Antibody testing was seen as crucial to easing lockdown during the pandemic – but antibodies are just one arm of the body’s immune response and in some individuals this response is weak and short-lived.
