Professor Adam Rosenthal – Consultant Gynaecologist
Professor Adam Rosenthal BSc(Hons) MBBS PhD FRCOG CCT (GMC: 3659933) is a consultant gynaecologist, and the lead for colposcopy and familial gynaecological cancer including ovarian cancer at University College London Hospitals.
Professor Adam Rosenthal is a leading London consultant gynaecologist, specialising in gynaecological cancer including ovarian cancer. From his private clinics, colposcopy, gynaecological screening, vulval skin diseases, and inherited gynaecological cancers such as hereditary ovarian cancer. He is the clinical lead on the UK Familial Ovarian Cancer Screening study, and has published extensively on ovarian cancer screening and the molecular biology of gynaecological cancer in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals.
Alongside this, Professor Rosenthal is also medical consultant on the women’s cancer charities The Eve Appeal and Ovacome, and has been the gynaecological oncology representative on the UK Cancer Genetics Group Steering Committee. He has also featured on channel 4 news and numerous newspapers as an expert in his field.
His clinical interests are gynaecological and anal pre-cancers, colposcopy, high-resolution anoscopy, laparoscopic surgery and inherited (familial) gynaecological cancers. He is also UCL Professor of Gynaecological Cancer Prevention.
He has published extensively on screening for gynaecological cancers and their molecular biology, in journals including the Lancet and the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
He sits on the NHS Cervical Screening Program Research Advisory Committee and the NICE Familial Ovarian Cancer Guideline Committee.
He is a Trustee of the Eve Appeal, the UK’s leading gynaecological cancer charity, and medical advisor to various other charities, including Ovacome. An acknowledged international expert on inherited gynaecological cancer, Adam has given interviews on TV and radio on this specialist area.
